Safety & Scam Advice

Adored Again introduces buyers and sellers. What happens after that is arranged directly between you, so take time to check the dress, the person and the payment before proceeding.

Before buying

• Inspect the dress and confirm its measurements, alterations, condition and any faults before buying.
• Remember that label sizes and fit vary between designers, especially after alterations.
• Ask for current photographs or a video call if you cannot inspect the dress in person.
• Verify the other person's identity and be cautious if their details or story keep changing.

Meeting and try-on safety

• Meet in a safe, appropriate place and tell someone where you are going.
• Consider having another adult present, especially for a try-on at a private home.
• Share only the personal information needed for the viewing or sale.
• If you feel pressured or unsafe, end the conversation or leave.

Payment and scam warning signs

• Never share passwords, one-time verification codes or unnecessary identity documents.
• Sellers should independently confirm that payment has cleared in their own bank or payment account before releasing a dress.
• Be cautious of overpayment stories, requests to refund a difference, courier agents, gift-card payments and unexpected payment links.
• Do not rely only on screenshots, emails or messages claiming that money has been sent.

Delivery

If you both agree to delivery, discuss responsibility for packaging, insurance and loss before sending the dress. Consider tracked and insured shipping, and keep the receipt and tracking information.

If something feels wrong

Stop communicating if you suspect a scam. Contact your bank or payment provider promptly if money may be at risk. Contact New Zealand Police where fraud is suspected, or call 111 if there is immediate danger.

You can also report suspected misuse of the Adored Again platform. Adored Again can review a listing or account, but does not mediate or determine the outcome of a private sale.

These steps can reduce risk, but they cannot guarantee safety or prevent every scam.
